Our team on the Isle of Man

Our team on the Isle of Man is made up of over 30 people in roles ranging from operations, engineering, maintenance and administration to health and safety.

Here’s some information about a few of them:

Jon Garrad

Plant Manager

Plant Manager since early 2020, Jon joined the team in 2011 as Operations Manager after working as a Module Manager in the Aerospace Engineering sector where he was responsible for the Ejection Seat assembly team.

Jon holds an HND in Mechanical Engineering and a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute.

Chris Hawke

Operations Manager

Chris joined SUEZ in the Isle of Man in 2015 as a Shift Operator after a career in the merchant navy with Shell Tankers and the Isle of Man Government Treasury Division. In 2017, Chris was promoted to Shift Manager and then Operation Manager in 2020.

Chris has an HNC in Nautical Science and NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety.

Jonson Brennan

Maintenance Manager

Our Maintenance Manager, Jonson Brennan, has been with the company for over 10 years. Jonson joined in April 2007 as a Technical Officer, was promoted to Technical Plant Engineer two years later, moved into operations in July 2012 as a Shift Manager and became Maintenance Manager in August 2017.

Jonson holds a BEng in Environmental Chemical Engineering.

Beckie Weimar

Hazardous Waste Manager

Beckie joined the SUEZ team on the Isle of Man in 2010 as Compliance Officer, was promoted to Hazardous Waste Chemist in 2013 and again to Hazardous Waste Manager in 2015.

Beckie is a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor and holds an MSc in Environmental Diagnosis and Management.

Mark Ellison, James Smith, Paul McCallum, Ross Cormode and Bob Jepson

Shift Managers

Our Shift Managers and their teams operate the plant to ensure it runs in accordance with our licence and health and safety commitments. Each shift has three team members working around the clock.

Sammy-Jo Seed

Office Manager

Sammy-Jo joined the SUEZ Isle of Man team in November 2017. With previous experience in the payroll sector, Sammy-Jo manages the office and the administration of the alternative waste business – including the waste oil, confidential waste and clinical waste disposals.
